Who is on West Ham’s striking shortlist this summer?

Although West Ham might have thrown away that three-goal lead against when heading into March’s international break, The Hammers have shocked many this season.

While the east London outfit might have only just hung onto their Premier League status last year, they now have a European finish at the top of their agenda.

With the likes of and Tomáš Souček have an instant impact at The London Stadium, it is no secret that David Moyes’ men are on the lookout for another striker this summer.

With Michail Antonio the only number nine in their ranks, we have taken a look at three striking stars who are reportedly on Moyes’ radar when the window reopens.

Ivan Toney Brentford

After making Saïd Benrahma s £25million move a permanent one earlier in the year, it appears that could have their eye on another Brentford star.

Really making a name for himself during a free-scoring tenure with Peterborough, Ivan Toney has only continued to gain a string of admirers since making the move to west London.

Joining The Bees for just £10million last year and brought in to replace Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, the 25-year-old has played a vital role in Brentford’s charge for a maiden Premier League campaign.

Only going from strength to strength, the one-time Newcastle starlet has recorded a hugely impressive 28 Championship goals so far this season and is only accelerating towards the Golden Boot.

Destined to make the step up and be another glittering example of Brentford’s recruitment policy, Toney has been linked with the likes of West Ham, and Arsenal when the window reopens this summer.

Youssef En-Nesyri Sevilla

With many around east London hoping that The Hammers would bring in a new number nine during the January transfer window, the links to Sevilla star Youssef En-Nesyri certainly excited many West Ham fans.

claimed towards the end of January that Moyes’ side made a £27million bid for the 23-year-old – one that was swiftly rejected by the Spanish outfit.

Although The Hammers might have failed with their initial attempt, it has been reported by over the past week that the Premier League side will reopen discussions this summer.

Continuing to impress many this season after helping Sevilla lift the Europa League title last year, the Morocco international has recorded 21 goals across all competitions and has even been previously linked with a potential move to Liverpool.

With The Hammers hopeful of completing a deal this summer, have reported that En-Nesyri could be available for £40million when the window reopens.

Adam Armstrong Blackburn Rovers

While Adam Armstrong might not quite match the level of goals Toney has recorded in the Championship this season, the 24-year-old does appear to be a man in demand this summer.

With Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray announcing that he would not stand in the way of Armstrong securing a Premier League move, the one-time Newcastle starlet has recorded 19 second-tier goals this season and is reportedly on Moyes’ wishlist at West Ham.

Sat only behind Toney and Norwich ace Teemu Pukki in the race for the Golden Boot, Armstrong will enter the final 12 months of his deal at Ewood Park when the 2020/21 campaign draws to a close.

While Blackburn might have initially quoted West Ham £25million for their prized asset, it is believed that Mowbray’s side are willing to listen to offers in an attempt to avoid Armstrong leaving on a free.

However, while The Hammers might be keen on bringing Armstrong to east London this summer, reported earlier in the month that Brighton are another Premier League admirer.
